Enable the required windows features manually as described below:

Solution for Windows 7:

  1. In windows, press the start button and type 'Features'.
  2. Select 'Programs and Features' on the right side.
  3. In the window 'Programs and Features', on the left side, click on the link 'Turn windows features on or off'.
  4. Enable the following windows features:
    1. Internet Information Services
    2. Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools
    3. Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools > IIS Management Console
    4. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services
    5. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > .NET Extensibility
    6. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ASP.NET
    7. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ISAPI Extensions
    8. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ISAPI Filters
    9. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Common HTTP Features
    10. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Common HTTP Features > Static Content
  5. Press the button 'Ok'.
  6. Start the SpaceObServer Web Access setup again.
  7. If the warning 'The setup requires DISM...' appears again, press continue.

 

Solution for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2:

  1. In windows, press the start button and type 'Server Manager'.
  2. Select 'Server Manager'.
  3. In the tree on the left side, choose 'Roles'.
  4. In the section 'Roles Summary' press the link 'Add Roles'.
  5. In the dialog press 'Next' until a list whith 'Roles' appears.
  6. In the list check 'Web Server (IIS)' and press next until the IIS is enabled
  7. When the IIS is installed, choose expand 'Roles' on the left side
  8. Select Web Server (IIS)
  9. Scroll down the window to the section 'Role Services' and click on the link 'Add Role Services'.
  10. A Dialog pops up. Add the following role services (Some features are enabled by default. You can keep them enabled.):
    1. Web Server > Common HTTP Features
    2. Web Server > Common HTTP Features > Static Content
    3. Web Server > Application Development > ASP.NET
    4. Web Server > Application Development > .NET Extensibility
    5. Web Server > Application Development > ISAPI Filters
    6. Web Server > Application Development > ISAPI Extensions
    7. Management Tools
    8. Management Tools > IIS Management Console
  11. In the dialog press 'Next' until all features are installed.
  12. Start the SpaceObServer Web Access setup again.
  13. If the warning 'The setup requires DISM...' appears again, press continue.

 

Solution for Windows 8:

  1. In windows, press the start button and type 'Features'.
  2. Select 'Programs and Features' on the right side.
  3. In the window 'Programs and Features', on the left side, click on the link 'Turn windows features on or off'.
  4. Enable the following windows features:
    1. Internet Information Services
      (Some subfeatures will be enabled by default. You can keep them activated.)
    2. Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools
    3. Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools > IIS Management Console
    4. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services
    5. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Common HTTP Features
    6. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Common HTTP Features > Static Content
    7. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features
    8. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ASP.NET 4.5
    9. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > .NET Extensibility 4.5
    10. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ISAPI Filters
    11. Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > ISAPI Extensions
    12. NET Framework 4.5 Advanced Services > ASP.NET 4.5
  5. Press the button 'Ok'.
  6. Start the SpaceObServer Web Access setup again.
  7. If the warning 'The setup requires DISM...' appears again, press continue.

 

Solution for Windows Server >= 2012:

  1. In windows, press the start button and type 'Server Manager'
  2. Select 'Server Manager'
  3. In the menu on the top left press 'Manage' > 'Add Roles and Features'
  4. In the dialog press 'Next' until a list of 'Roles' appears
  5. Scroll down and check the role 'Web Server (IIS)'
  6. A dialog pops up. Click on the button 'Add Features'
  7. Press the button 'Next'
  8. In the list of features, enable the following:
    1. .NET Framework 4.5 Fatures
    2. .NET Framework 4.5 Fatures > ASP.NET 4.5
  9. Press the button 'Next' until the list of 'Role services' appears and make sure, that following features are checked:
    1. Web Server > Common HTTP Features > Static Content
    2. Web Server > Management Tools > IIS Management Console
    3. Web Server > Application Development > .NET Extensibility 4.5
    4. Web Server > Application Development > ASP.NET 4.5
    5. Web Server > Application Development > ISAPI Extensions
    6. Web Server > Application Development > ISAPI Filters
  10. Press the button 'Next'
  11. Press the button 'Install'
  12. Start the SpaceObServer Web Access setup again.
  13. If the warning 'The setup requires DISM...' appears again, press continue.

The file GlobalOptions.config could not be found in the installation folder or the GlobalOptions.config has an invalid schema.

  1. Go to the installation folder C:\Program Files\JAM Software\SpaceObServer Web Access.
  2. Copy the file GlobalOptions.config.bak to the same folder and rename it to GlobalOptions.config
  3. Restart the website via the IIS-Manager.

This happens mostly when the database connection string is invalid. You can verify the defined connection string on the administrator page located at: http://hostname/admin.

  1. In the Start Menu go to Programs and open the folder 'SpaceObServer Web Access'. Click on the Entry 'Configure Database'.
  2. Fill out the fields to an existing SpaceObServer database. We recommend to use the SQL Server Authentication.
  3. Verify your typed Connection String, using the button 'Test Connection'
  4. Press 'OK' to apply the entered connection.

The limit of maximum allowed clients is defined by the entered license key. When a user invokes the SpaceObServer Web Access in the browser, then he automatically consumes a licensed slot. You can verify the consumed slots on the administrator page located at: http://hostname/admin.

1. Possible Reason when using Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge Browser: The localhost loopback is disabled. Since Windows 10 Build 10166, the loopback is enabled by default.

Solution: In the Microsoft Edge, please type in the address bar: about:flag. After that enable the checkbox 'Allow localhost loopback'.

2. Possible Reason: The Internet Information Service is not started.

Solution 2: Start the Internet Information Service (IIS). Run 'Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager' (Press Windows-Key and Type 'IIS Manager'). In the left section, select the Server. In the 'Actions'-section on the right, please press the button 'Start'.

  1. Login to SpaceObServer Web Access with an account that is member of the 'Administrator'-role.
  2. Go to the admin page.
  3. Select the tab 'Roles'.
  4. Edit any role you want to add the affected user account.
  5. Search for the user account and add the user to the role.
  6. Save the configuration.

Most trial/demo versions of our products support the activation with a valid license key and then unlock all the features of the full version.

Alternatively, you can always install the full version over the existing trial version, your settings from the trial version will be taken over unchanged.
