Blacklist / Whitelist entries are missing after update

Question / Problem

I have updated the Exchange Server Toolbox. Now all of my blacklist and whitelist entries are missing. How can I restore them?

Answer / Solution

Backups of your blacklist and whitelist settings can be found in the following folder:

C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\.spamassassin\backup

If this folder is empty or does not exist, you can try to restore the user_prefs file from a filesystem backup in one of the following directories:

  • C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\.spamassassin\
  • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\.spamassassin\
