Searching for file content is very slow. Is it possible to speed up this process?

Question / Problem

Searching for file content is very slow. Is it possible to speed up this process?

Answer / Solution

When searching for file content, UltraSearch analyzes the entire content of each file, so it has to open each file and match its content with the search term. Because file content is not stored in UltraSearch's internal cache, searching may be slower on drives with many or large files, or on network drives. To speed up the file content search, the search should be further restricted using additional search criteria. For example, by restricting it to a specific drive or folder. Restricting to a specific file type or entering parts of the file name is also useful. Additional restrictions through exclusion filter or date and size filters also help to speed up the search.
