How many licenses of SpaceObServer do I need?

Answer / Solution

One license of SpaceObServer covers one installation. SpaceObServer can scan network paths via UNC or mapped drives. So, you can install SpaceObServer on one server to observe multiple machines in case you are licensed for the Enterprise Edition. Because of the performance and the workload of the observing server we do not recommend you scan more than 3-5 scan targets with one server, but this depends totally on the size of the file system structures to scan on each server and the scan frequency. If you are using SpaceObServer in a clustered environment, you need one license per node you install SpaceObServer on.
